Abd Rahman al-Taheri (15 October 1950-) was a politician of Egypt. Born in Asyut on the Nile River, al-Taheri was a member of the Egyptian Communist Party and supported their rise to power in 2013.

Abd Rahman al-Taheri was born on 15 October 1950 in Asyut, an Egyptian city on the Nile River. al-Taheri was raised in a Sunni Muslim family, but they did not practice their religion in public, keeping it private. al-Taheri was inspired by communist authors in Egypt, and decided to join the Egyptian Communist Party. In 1965, the organization was suppressed by Gamal Abdel Nasser, the dictator of Egypt, and al-Taheri was forced to flee to Sudan, where he continued his political activities. He returned after Nasser's death in 1970 and continued his activism.
During the reign of Hosni Mubarak as dictator, al-Taheri was a staunch opponent of his authoritarian rule, instead advocating a proletarian dictatorship. al-Taheri was elected to the Senate in the 2013 elections after the Egyptian Revolution toppled the authoritarian government, and represented a district of Asyut.
