Jacob of Jerusalem (born 1148) was an admiral of the Kingdom of Jerusalem.
Biography[]
Jacob of Jerusalem was born in 1148 in the Kingdom of Jerusalem, and became an admiral of the Jerusalemite Navy. Jacob commanded the fleet off Tyre during the times preceding the Third Crusade (from 1174 onwards), while Admiral Morcar led the fleet off Acre to the south. Jacob's fleet ferried an army of Templars to Cyprus in 1191 and conquered the island from the Greek rebels, and his fleet defeated the Ayyubid Caliphate fleets off southern Turkey and around Cyprus many times.
