Andy Turetto

Andy Turetto (born 1917) was a Marcano crime family associate and the boss of an extortion racket in River Row, New Orleans.

Biography[]

Andy Turetto was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1917 to a family of Italian descent, and he became an associate of the powerful Marcano crime family. Turetto ran an extortion operation out of Rigolet's Canning Company alongside Vito Scaletta, only to follow Michael Grecco and Sal Marcano in taking over River Row from Scaletta. Turetto forced the dock union workers to pay higher dues while threatening to revoke their work licenses, and he hid his contempt for Grecco while fighting against Scaletta and his ally, Lincoln Clay. In 1968, Clay sabotaged his union trailers and killed his enforcers before confronting him at the Rigolet's Canning Company, and Clay forced Turetto to work for him and Scaletta instead; Scaletta was happy to work with Turetto again.
