1 man o' war captured All landing party troops dead
The Battle of Mariguana Island (April 1718) was fought between the pirate crews of Blackbeard's Queen Anne's Revenge, Edward Kenway's Jackdaw, and Benjamin Hornigold's Benjamin off Mariguana Island, Bahamas during the Golden Age of Piracy. The battle began when Blackbeard attacked the Royal Navy man o' war HMS Princess of London as it returned to the Caribbean Sea from Charles-Towne, South Carolina with a sizeable medicine shipment, aiming to steal the medicine for the sick people of Nassau port. Blackbeard's attack was foolhardy, and many pirate ships were sunk, while Hornigold's ship Benjamin was heavily damaged. Blackbeard and his crew later engaged in a fight with a British landing party on Mariguana Island, and Kenway arrived to save Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet's men from being overwhelmed. After the pirates were rescued, they boarded the Queen Anne's Revenge to pursue HMS Princess of London, which was incapacitated after a hard-fought naval battle. The pirates proceeded to throw grappling hooks at Princess of London and reel the ships together, and the pirates boarded the ship and killed several British soldiers, including Captain William Herle. Blackbeard's second-in-command Israel Hands showed him that the medicine crates had markings from Charles-Towne, leading to Blackbeard and Kenway targeting Charles-Towne in a blockade in May 1718.
