Benito "Benny" Fazio Jr. was a soldier in Christopher Moltisanti's crew of the DiMeo crime family. Fazio was close friends with Moltisanti and later became a bodyguard and driver for Don Tony Soprano.

Biography[]

Benito Fazio Jr. was the godson of DiMeo crime family capo Larry Barese, and he began working for Christopher Moltisanti after his 2000 release from prison. Fazio and Moltisanti robbed a Jewel concert at Rutgers University after Jackie Aprile Jr. tipped them off about it, and Fazio was rewarded by being given a "no-show" job at a construction site. Fazio and Petey LaRosa would, in 2003, be sent to whack African-American heroin dealers Credenzo Curtis and Stanley Johnson in the Meadowlands section of North Jersey. Fazio became a trusted family member, later serving as a driver and bodyguard for Tony Soprano. In late 2004, he was severely beaten by Lupertazzi crime family capo Phil Leotardo to send a message to Soprano, and Fazio's skull was fractured.

In 2006, Fazio fully recovered from the attack, and Soprano rewarded him by "making" him. He became a driver for Silvio Dante, a guard at Soprano's ICU room at the hospital, and assisted Angie Bonpensiero's auto body shop business. Fazio was later sent to the hospital after a fight with Nuovo Vesuvio restaurant head chef Artie Bucco, who had found out that Fazio was having an affair with the newest hostess at the restaurant, and that Fazio was running a credit card scam at his restaurant. Fazio sought to kill Bucco, but Tony Soprano arranged for them to make amends. Fazio later burned Bucco's arm in spaghetti sauce during a confrontation in the kitchen of the restaurant after the chef hinted towards Fazio's infidelity as he was eating there with his wife. Fazio also avenged Leotardo's beating of him by blowing up his wire room in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. In 2007, Fazio served as Walden Belfiore's getaway driver after Belfiore shot Leotardo dead at a Raceway Gas Station, avenging his beating.
