Bernard Couch
Bernard Couch (1686-) was a British Royal Navy officer who served aboard the frigate HMS Experiment in the Caribbean. In September 1719, when his vessel was attacked by the pirate Edward Kenway and the crew of the Jackdaw, Couch took over command of the ship on the captain's demise, and he was forced to deliver the crew's surrender to the pirates after they were overwhelmed.
