Captain Jabir of Arab Company (7 May 739-) was the captain of the Arab Company, a mercenary group of Arabs.
Biography
Jabir was born on 7 May 739 to a family of Sunni Muslim Bedouin, and he rose to be the leader of the mercenary Arab Company. He was employed by the Abbasid Caliphate in 769 before serving under the Kingdom of Berbera in East Africa during their war with the Shirazid Emirate and their conquests in Africa and Yemen in the following years.
