Danielle Norwood

Danielle Norwood was a Party for Socialism and Liberation activist from Choctaw County, Alabama. On 19 November 2011, she spoke at the Los Angeles Socialism Conference about her reasons for joining the communist PSL the previous year. She was motivated by the BP oil spill, which she said was due to "capitalist greed" and was unfairly blamed upon the workers. She was a member of the "Seize BP" program, and she denounced capitalism and its greed, and she also brought up how, in her home county in Alabama, the average male income was $32,316 , while the average female income was $18,760. She also mentioned how most comforts were hours away, how most people lived in trailers and houses that were falling apart, how Alabama passed some of the most racist and anti-immigration legislation in the entire country, and how the people of her county lived in poverty.
