Davenport was a brig captained by the pirate hunter Henry Cock during the Golden Age of Piracy. In September 1719, the ship was sent to hunt down the pirate Edward Kenway and the crew of the Jackdaw off the northern coast of Jamaica, and Kenway engaged the ship in battle. The crew of the Jackdaw succeeded in boarding the ship and forcing her crew to surrender, and the crew of the Jackdaw decided to recruit the crew members into their fold to lower their wanted level.
