Rodrigo de Noronha

David Silveira (1824—1888) was a Portuguese naval officer and engineer who lived during the 19th century. He served as the commander of the Portuguese Royal Navy during the reign of King Luís I of Portugal, being appointed in 1883. A former naval architect, he used to work at a shipyard and helped design some of Portugal's first ironclads. He stepped down in 1887 and was replaced by Admiral Mário de Sousa, 3rd Marquis of Sousa.
