Ankokuji

Ekei Ankokuji (1539-6 November 1600) was a diplomat of the Mori and a Buddhist monk. He later became a vassal of Hideyoshi Hashiba and made the daimyo of the Ankokuji clan of Iyo Province, and participated in the Japanese invasions of Korea. He remained loyal to the Toyotomi after the death of Hideyoshi and fought in the Sekigahara Campaign as an ally of Mitsunari Ishida. After the Battle of Sekigahara he was decapitated in Kyoto.
