The First Battle of Ramleh (Ramla) was an engagement between the Crusader States and Egypt, whose armies invaded the Kingdom of Jerusalem, which resulted in the rout of the Egyptian army.


A far smaller force commanded by King Baldwin I of Jerusalem attacked a 10,000-strong Egyptian army invading the newly established crusader states. The veteran crusader cavalry launched four successive charges, which finally broke the Egyptian force.
