French Equatorial Africa
French Equatorial Africa was a federation of French colonial possessions in Central Africa, including Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, and Gabon, that existed from 1910 to 1958. In 1958, the people of Equatorial Africa voted for autonomy within the French Community, ending the federation's colonial status, and its member states gained independence in 1960.
