Grandoyne (died 778 AD) was a Cappadocian fighter who was the Prince of Cappadocia, son of King Capuel. Grandoyne fought in the Battle of Roncesvalles in a Muslim coalition against the Franks but was slain by Roland of Brittany.

Biography[]

Grandoyne was the son of King Capuel of Cappadocia, and lent his services to Baligant, Emir of Babylon, in 778 during the Battle of Roncesvalles. He slew Frankish knights Gerin, Gerier, Berenger, Guy St. Antoine, and Duke Astorge, before he was slain by Roland of Brittany, an enemy knight.
