IRA bombings of 1959
The IRA bombings of 1959 was a bombing campaign carried out by the Irish nationalist Irish Republican Army (IRA) against targets in Northern Ireland, a part of the United Kingdom. The IRA campaign followed the successful IRA bombings of 1958, and the IRA attacked British Army targets across the north. The bombings helped to increase popular support for the IRA in the north, and they were followed by the IRA bombings of 1960.
