Impuzamugambi

The Impuzamugambi was a Hutu militia in Rwanda that existed from 1992 to 1994. The militia was tied to the Coalition for the Defense of the Republic party, while the Interahamwe militia was the armed wing of the National Republican Movement for Democracy and Development. The CDR had more extreme views than the Interahamwe, although it was less-organized; nevertheless, the militia - led by Hassan Ngeze and Jean Bosco Barayagwiza - was responsible for a large portion of Rwandan Genocide deaths. Members of the militia fled to the Democratic Republic of the Congo after the Rwandan Patriotic Front won the Rwandan Civil War, becoming refugees.
