Jonathan Wyatt (died May 1718) was the Governor of Charles-Towne, South Carolina in 1718. Wyatt was a captain in the British Army before being entrusted with the affairs of the town, and he was known for his steadfast views. When the pirate Blackbeard and his ship Queen Anne's Revenge arrived in the port of Charleston and began to blockade the city, Wyatt refused to give in to the pirates' demands for medicine, even though Blackbeard had taken several hostages. The pirate Edward Kenway headed inland to find the medicines, and he chased Wyatt past several guards and towards his mansion, killing him after a long chase. Kenway proceeded to steal the key to the medicines, and he brought the medicines back to Blackbeard for use in Nassau.
