Masachika Matsuda was a retainer of the Akechi clan, and was killed in the Battle of Yamazaki in 1582.


Masachika Matsuda was born in Tamba Province to a prestigious family loyal to the Hatano. However, he became a retainer of the Oda clan, to the general Mitsuhide Akechi. As a follower of him, he took part in Mitsuhide's uprising against the Oda. In 1582, at the Battle of Yamazaki, he was killed by Hideyoshi Hashiba's Oda loyalists led by Kanbei Kuroda.
