Maurice Bembe was a Rwandan Armed Forces (FAR) officer during the Rwandan Civil War. In 1994, he attempted to force Paul Rusesabagina to hand over the Tutsi refugees that he had been sheltering during the Rwandan Genocide, but Rusesabagina convinced Bembe to leave; Bembe warned Rusesabagina that he would remember him.
