May 2017 Kabul bombing
The May 2017 Kabul attack occurred at 8:25 AM on 31 May 2017 when a Haqqani Network suicide bomber detonated a truck bomb at a crowded intersection in the diplomatic quarter of Kabul, Afghanistan (near the German embassy), killing over 100 people and injuring over 463. The diplomatic quarter was once considered one of the safest parts of Kabul, but the bombing led to many embassies suffering heavy damage. The Taliban condemned the attack, and the Afghan government blamed the Haqqani Network for the attack.
