Mordechai Adams (1618-1668) was an English pirate and the brother of Dawg Brown and Black Harry. He had a piece to the map showing the location of Cutthroat Island, which was home to a large Spanish treasure, and he hid it well. In 1668, his niece Morgan Adams came to him, and she convinced the old and cowardly Mordechai to help her find the treasure. However, Brown and his men attacked them, leading to a fight between Brown's crew and Adams' crew. In the ensuing fight, Adams was impaled by Brown's knife after a pirate bumped into Brown, causing him to run Adams through. William Shaw, Morgan Adams' slave, stole Mordechai's piece of the map and gave it to her.
