Nicolas Ordonez

Nicolas Ordonez was a Spanish Navy sailor during the early 18th century. Ordonez served aboard the schooner Santa Gertrudis in the Caribbean, and his ship was assaulted by Benjamin Hornigold and Edward Kenway's pirate ship, the Jackdaw, in September 1715. Ordonez was taken prisoner, and he was asked to translate Hornigold's English threats to the crew into Spanish after he said that he spoke a little bit of English, but he asked him to repeat after he gave a lengthy and challenging speech. Ordonez was taken into the Jackdaw 's hold with the other Spanish prisoners.
