Nobushige Oyamada was an Oda (formerly Takeda) general who served under Nobunaga Oda. He was best known for helping in the Siege of Ueda.

Biography

Nobushige Oyamada was a commander of the Takeda clan, an ally of Katsuyori Takeda. But after the Battle of Nagashino, he enlisted in the Oda army, abandoning his former master. Nobushige took part in the Siege of Ueda Castle in 1582, where the Fall of the Takeda was at hand. Nobushige opened the front gates, the garrison not knowing that he had defected, and this let the Oda storm the castle and strike down Katsuyori.
