Ottobuono di Razzi (1254-3 January 1315) was Patriarch of Aquileia from 1302 to 1315, succeeding Pietro Gerra and preceding Gillo of Villalta.
Biography[]
Ottobuono was born in Piacenza, Italy, and he was first Bishop of Padua before becoming Patriarch of Aquileia in 1302. Gherardo III da Camino, Lord of Treviso, and other local vassals objected to his appointment at Patriarch, and he fought against him from 1305 to 1310. The Trevisans conquered Saciletto and San Vito, forcing Ottobuono to flee to Venice. However, Henry III of Gorizia later switched his allegiance to the Patriarch, and Rizzardo IV da Camino was pushed back from Friuli, dying in 1313. In 1311, he accompanied Henry VII of Germany on his return to Germany, and he died while on a trip to Avignon in 1315.
