The Pan-African Union for Social Democracy (UPADS) is a social democratic political party in the Republic of the Congo, founded in 1992 by Pascal Lissouba. The party was allied to the Congolese Party of Labor during the early 1990s, and Lissouba served as president from 1992 to 1997 after his UPADS-PCT alliance won the elections. After Lissouba was ousted in the Republic of the Congo Civil War in 1997, UPADS became the main opposition party in the country.
