The People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan is a socialist political party in Tajikistan that was founded by Emomali Rahmon on 10 December 1994. The People's Democratic Party was the typical post-Soviet, Central Asian "party of power", supporting authoritarianism and dominating the government for decades. The party stood for a secular state and society and was considered center-left, with elements of statism, anti-clericalism, national conservatism, and Tajik nationalism. In 2017, it held 51/63 Assembly of Representatives seats.
