Perdido

Perdido was a desert region in the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua, with Chuparosa serving as its main settlement. Perdido (“lost” in English) was so-called due to its scarcity of settlements. Its main settlement of Chuparosa was home to many gunslingers from both America and Mexico, and Perdido acquired a negative reputation as “bandit country” by the time of the Mexican Revolution. Banditos ambushed travelers along the main roads during the 1910s, and travelers were also threatened by packs of wild wolves. A famous landmark of the Perdido region was the Ojo del Diablo, an arch of rock.
