Pro-Europeanism is a political orientation which favors co-operation among European nations, viewing the European Union and European integration favorably. Pro-Europeanism advocates open borders (visa-free travel), shared currency (the euro), and a central monetary system that allowed for member states to economically assist each other in times of hardship. The ideology is the opposite of Euroscepticism, opposition to European integration and EU membership.
