The Siege of Athens by Sparta took place in 269 BC from January to December, with the armies of King Kleomenes of Sparta besieging the rebel-held city of Athens. The Athenian Rebels withstood siege for six months, when the Spartans built their siege engines and stormed the city, killing 830 of the rebels and peacefully occupying Athens.
