The Siege of Mazaca was the battle that led to Alexander the Great's conquest of Cappdocia.


Alexander's army, consisting of the Silver Shield Guard units, attacked the Persian army, consisting of levies and cavalrymen. The Greek troops lost their first attack, but not after inflicting heavy casualties. Then, a second attack drove the Persians from the field.
