The Theban Rebellion was a failed rebellion by the Thebans against the Kingdom of Macedon. Alexander the Great crushed it due to their murder of his father.

Battle

Alexander's army, composed of Macedonian scout cavalry, Greek peltasts, and Macedonian spear militia, attacked the Theban barbarians, many of whom were weak militias levied by the rebel leaders. The cavalry overran the archers, the spearmen took out the cavalry, and the archers took out the infantry, and the Thebans were crushed.
