Thrace location

Thrace is a region in the Balkans consisting of the borders of Greece, Bulgaria, and Turkey. Bordered by the Balkan Mountains to the north, the Aegean Sea to the south, the Black Sea and Sea of Marmara to the east, and the rest of the Balkans to the west, Thrace was named for the Thracians, an ancient tribe that once inhabited the region. Thrace was an important historical region, being home to the kingdom of Lysimachus and the Odrysian Kingdom, as well as being home to the Greek city of Byzantium, future home of the Byzantine Empire.
