Tribeca

Tribeca is a neighborhood of lower Manhattan, New York City. Its name is a portmanteau coming from "Triangle below Canal Street", its location in the city; it is actually a trapezoid. During the mid-1800s, Tribeca was a commercial area, and it became a fashionable and desirable neighborhood of Manhattan during the late 20th and early 21st centuries. In 2006, Tribeca was the most expensive New York neighborhood, and it was rated the safest New York zip code in 2010. In 2000, 10,395 people lived in Tribeca.
