The Yeollin Uri Party, meaning Our Open Party, was a social liberal party in South Korea which existed from 2003 to 2007. The party was formed by the faction within the Millennium Democratic Party which was steadfastly supportive of President Roh Moo-hyun at the time of his impeachment; nearly half of the MDP's lawmakers defected to the Uri Party. The party supported increased spending on social services, de-emphasized economic growth, supported reconciliation with North Korea while moving away from South Korea's traditional military alliances with Japan and the United States, and the party supported women's rights and other culturally liberal causes. However, the party declined after the 2004 election due to disunity in its ranks, and, in 2007, the Uri Party merged with the MDP to form the Democratic Party of Korea.
