The Yamanouchi Uesugi were a branch of the Uesugi clan, and were led by Norimasa Yamanouchi, who used the family name "Uesugi" formally. The Yamanouchi were invaded by the Hojo in 15, and were crushed.

The Yamanouchi clan were one of the three main Uesugi clans, besides the Nagao Uesugi and Ogigayatsu Uesugi branches. The Yamanouchi were led by Norimasa Yamanouchi, who allied with Norikatsu Ogigayatsu in the Siege of Kawagoe Castle, where Norikatsu's general Tomosada Ogigayatsu was slain. The Yamanouchi were weakened after the failed attack on Kawagoe in 1545, and lost control of Shimotsuke Province in 1548 to the Hojo. From then on, they lived in obscurity until their conquest by the [[]] clan in 15.
