Yucatan Channel
The Yucatán Channel is a strait between Mexico and Cuba that connects the Caribbean Sea with the Gulf of Mexico. The channel is 120 miles wide, and it is home to several coral reefs. The channel suffers from overexploitation from artisan fishermen, who congregate along the channel to go fishing.
