Zaid ibn Shaker (4 September 1934 – 30 August 2002) was Prime Minister of Jordan from 27 April to 6 December 1989, succeeding Zaid al-Rifai and preceding Mudar Badran, from 21 November 1991 to 29 May 1993, succeeding Taher al-Masri and preceding Abdelsalam al-Majali, and from 8 January 1995 to 4 February 1996, succeeding Abdelsalam al-Majali and preceding Abdul Karim al-Kabariti.
Biography[]
Zaid ibn Shaker was born on 4 September 1934 in Amman, Jordan to a Muslim family. He was a cousin of King Hussein I of Jordan, and he was commander-in-chief of the Jordanian Army for twelve years under King Hussein. Shaker served as the Chief-of-Staff to King Hussein, and he was one of the most important Jordanian commanders in the Arab-Israeli Conflict. During the 1990s, he served as Prime Minister on three occasions, and his last term ended in 1996. He died in 2002 at the age of 67 in Amman.
